What is Road Ecology & How Can Wildlife Benefit by It?

17 Apr 01:00 pm - 02:00 pm

Beaver Tales Coffe

We take roads and the vehicles who use them for granted without realizing the impacts they have on people, wildlife and landscapes.  Every year millions of animals, of all types, die due to the 4 million miles of roads in the USA alone. They also contribute to wildfires. We’ll have a brief description of those impacts and what is being done to mitigate them here and abroad.  After that we can discuss what is being done in WA and what we can do personally to offset the carnage.
We’ll meet at Beaver Tales Coffee at the wharf in Coupeville. RSVP 360-720-3331
Gary Piazzon is a retired Physical Therapist with a long history of environmental education, advocacy & activism including: president of the Whidbey Environmental Action Network for 20 years, past conservation chair of Whidbey & Blue Water Audubon Society.
