A Whidbey Earth and Ocean Month 2022 Program promoting regenerative agriculture for healthy food and a healthy planet.
Visit the Garry oak meadow at South Whidbey Tilth, 2812 Thompson Road, Langley, and help clear Himalayan blackberries, Canada thistle and other invasive plants from around the trees so the established camas, yarrow, Oregon sunshine and other native flowers and forbs can thrive. There will be a talk in the classroom at 10 a.m. to describe what young plants to look out for. Bring work gloves, spading fork, pruning shears, etc. and dress for the weather. To register or ask questions, contact Prescott at firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-682-8642.
