Fortunate attendees will walk with a Whidbey Camano Land Trust host around Keystone Preserve which is currently undergoing restoration and is not yet open to the public!
The group will see ecological restoration-in-progress, including:
- Removal of invasive blackberry and other aggressive non-native plants
- Progress on shoreline bulkhead to restore natural bluff and coastal processes
- Progress on blufftop restoration of native prairie, oak savannah, and stream corridor
- Whidbey’s Organic Farm School activities to prepare agricultural portions of the property for the upcoming season.
Distance: 2-3 miles, mostly level, with uneven walking terrain and a gradual slope down to the sandy beach. No dogs allowed on this walk.
