SUMMARY:Introduction to Seaweed Foraging (Library Walk)
DESCRIPTION:Learn which seaweeds you can harvest and how with Jeanie McElwain of Sound Water Stewards. Jeanie will introduce attendees to Whidbey’s best edible seaweeds at the largest kelp forest in Washington State\, right off of central Whidbey! \nDress for the weather\, including close-toed sturdy shoes—waterproof are best but not necessary. Since this is an introductory class attendees won’t be harvesting seaweed themselves\, instead\, Jeanie will supply information on how to obtain a seaweed collection license and on further resources for seaweed identification and harvesting.
